Mortgage Women, we did it! Our first issue was a well-received
success and began to form a stronger tribe of women through
networking, sharing our stories, and having a publication to call
our own.
I received so many positive comments from our readers such as
“it’s about time” and “this is just so wonderful” to name just a couple. So, with this issue, we’re going to continue to provide content that you can use in both your professional and personal life. After all, the two worlds
do blend together and sustained success demands balance on both sides of our lives.
Our feature this month is mortgage woman extraordinaire Regina Lowrie who was the
first female President of the Mortgage Banker’s Association. Regina has a wonderful story
to share and I hope you find it as inspiring as I did; as she offers us all a lot of great advice
for pushing forward and making life happen.
Bethany McLean has released a “tell all” book called Shaky Ground which uncovers the
“behind the scenes” story of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debacle. She shares with us
what she found out from her investigative journalism.
We found a great study by leanin.org and have written a summary of what we learned.
A copy of the full study is available for free on our website. And speaking of free, Michelle
McQuaid gives us tips to flourish as a professional and as a person. Exciting News-Her e-book is being made available for our subscribers for free on our website.
We have also added three new regular features which address work/life balance, styles from
a celebrity stylist, and a technology column that will help us put the pieces together in our
business. We’ve lined up the best in those specialities, so, I have no doubt you will enjoy
what they have to say.
Good Reads this month knocks it over the top with Bethany McLean’s book, Shaky Ground.
Brene’Brown’s new book called Rising Strong teaches us to push through the times when
life doesn’t go our way. Sylvia Guiterrez wrote a “how to” book explaining the complexities
of our industry to consumers, and Susan Meitner’s book called Crazy Lucky Girl passes on
techniques that help our business grow.
The publication is heating up and we want you to be a part of this “fire.” Remember, this
is your publication so your opinions matter. So, tell us what matters to you and what you
want to read about! After all, Mortgage Women Magazine is “All About You”.
